Employment agency Manpower is looking for an technician for Dow in Terneuzen.

As a technician at Dow, you can expect to perform the following activities:

• Develop catalyst synthesis skills and work in the lab for more than 80% of the time, preparing catalysts for multiple projects
• Work as part of a team in a laboratory supporting chemists and engineers in developing, screening, and commercializing new products and processes
• Manage and safely execute laboratory work requests
• Prepare for and independently perform standard and some non-routine procedures 
• Accurately record readings and observations using relevant equipment and instruments
• Maintain inventories of consumable materials, chemicals, and supplies by anticipating usage rates, order lead times, and following ordering/purchasing procedures
• Communicate issues promptly and effectively to the Technology Leader or lead scientists to enable or accelerate problem resolution
• Actively participate in work group team meetings to address safety, process improvement, problem-solving, and other work group, department, and functional topics

Working hours
The working hours in this fulltime position are during day shifts.

• At least a mbo-4 diploma (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline
• At least two years of working experience as something comparable 
• A good command of the English language In connection with work activities
• Prior experience in catalysts synthesis and/or catalysts characterization is a plus.
• Availability of 40 hours per week
• A valid Dutch work permit or EU-nationality 
• A certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag or VOG) that shows you have not committed any criminal offences

Living in or near Terneuzen, Hoek, Middelburg or Bergen op Zoom is a bonus, but not mandatory!
