Employment agency Manpower is looking for a Tax Specialist fluent in English and one other language mentioned below for Dow in Terneuzen.
 

In this role, you will be responsible for Indirect and/or Direct Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting for our Spanish Dow companies. You will ensure that tax filings are done on time according to legal due dates. By using our up-to-date systems and tools, you will analyze financial information and translate it into information useful for tax purposes within a small geography/country or business. You will also support activities related to local tax issues, audits, appeals, compliance, legislative tax policy, and tax planning. Involvement in projects will be part of your development as well. Your tasks will consist of:

  • Review tax returns as per country tax requirements in the area of Indirect Tax and/or prepare Direct Tax.
  • Provide support for annual tax activities management concerning country tax legislation.
  • Support communication links to Tax Authorities, External Audit Staff, and Tax Advisors.
  • Work independently on tax activities under the guidance of the Country Tax manager.
  • Responsible for tax data analysis and assisting in implementing new tax technology in the EMEAI region.
  • Identify work process improvement opportunities and/or automation opportunities.
  • Recognize and solve typical problems that can occur in the work area by evaluating and selecting solutions from established operating procedures and/or analytical/scientific methods under moderate supervision.
  • Act in compliance with SOX policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred with a specialization in Finance and/or Tax)
  • An excellent command of the English language, preferably in combination with one of the following languages: Spanish (at least C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
  • Minimum availability of 32 to 40 hours per week
  • A Dutch work permit that is valid for at least nine months or an EU nationality
  • A certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag or VOG) that shows you have not committed any criminal offences
  • Experience in Tax or Finance; experience with SAP is preferable
