As a R&D engineer you will perform the following working activities:
- Providing operational support for existing low-voltage capacitor products
- Leading R&D projects or work packages with a structured and goal-oriented approach
- Designing experimental setups, conducting tests, analyzing results, and integrating physical modeling when applicable
- Collaborating with a global R&D team to share knowledge and deliver high-quality, timely outcomes
- Working closely with Hitachi Energy’s Power Grids Research organization and academic partners
- Proposing and developing innovative ideas for new R&D projects
- Documenting project results through technical reports, presentations, and intellectual property creation
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and external partners

Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Dielectrics, High Voltage (HV) Physics, or Electrotechnology
- Minimum of 5 years in film capacitors or film metallization (product or process)
- Strong analytical skills for designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments
- Proficiency in material science, insulation systems, and thermal management
- Experience in modeling and characterization of HV capacitors or HV devices with solid insulation
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Experience in project management and technical leadership (preferred)
- Familiarity with Multiphysics integration tools and techniques
- Ability to work effectively in a global team with diverse stakeholders
- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and continuous learning
- Strong analytical mindset with a target-oriented working style
- Excellent ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
- A proactive approach to identifying and developing new R&D opportunities
- Availability of 40 hours per week
