Manpower is looking for a Procurement Category Manager for a company in Hengelo. 

In this role, you will develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and production schedules. You will conduct market analysis to understand supplier capabilities and trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and discover beneficial technologies. Your responsibilities include establishing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing contract performance to ensure favorable terms and minimize risks. You will collaborate with production teams to forecast demand, plan inventory replenishment, and support production needs. Additionally, you'll identify supply chain risks, develop mitigation strategies, and work closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement with business priorities. Regular reporting on procurement performance and participating in budget preparation will be key tasks. You'll also lead and mentor a team of buyers to meet procurement objectives and align with strategic goals.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee international procurement activities across multiple production sites, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, components, and services essential for UAV manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in optimizing supply chain efficiency, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives.

Working hours

Dit neem je mee

  • A Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus)
  • At least five years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain
  • Experience with procurement analytics tools and ERP systems 
  • Proficiency in English (additional languages highly valued) because of job duties
  • Availability of 40 hours per week 
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective relationship management with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
